Terms of Service
These terms set the ground rules for using RichButter, placing an order, following a made-to-order piece, and sharing a verified review.
Effective August 11, 2026
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of richbutter.com, your RichButter account, and any purchase or other interaction with RichButter Studio. In these Terms, RichButter Studio may be referred to as RichButter, we, us, or our. The website, account features, and related services are collectively called the Service.
By accessing the Service, creating an account, submitting content, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Product-specific information and policies shown at checkout or in our FAQ also apply to the relevant purchase. If a product-specific term conflicts with these Terms, the product-specific term controls for that product.
Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority where you live to make a purchase or create an account on your own. A parent or legal guardian may use the Service on behalf of a minor and is responsible for that use. You may use the Service only where doing so is lawful.
Accounts and account security
You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep your contact and shipping details up to date. You are responsible for protecting your password, email account, and any third-party sign-in method connected to your account. You are also responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless prohibited by law.
Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. We may suspend or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to protect a customer, investigate fraud, comply with law, or address a violation of these Terms.
Products and studio-made variation
RichButter products are made and finished in small quantities, and many are made to order. Depending on the design, printed components may use plant-based filament, standard PLA, or PETG along with the hardware, finish, and electrical components listed on the product page.
Fine layer lines and small differences in color, texture, surface, dimensions, or finish are natural results of 3D printing and hand-finishing. These variations make each piece slightly unique and are not defects when they do not materially affect the product's function. Screen settings and lighting can also affect how a color appears online.
We work to keep descriptions, images, measurements, materials, and availability accurate. Minor differences may occur, and we may correct an error or update product information when needed. If a material difference affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you with appropriate options.
Orders and acceptance
An order is an offer to purchase the selected products. An automated confirmation means that we received the order, but it does not limit our ability to review it for payment authorization, inventory, pricing errors, fraud, shipping restrictions, or other legitimate concerns.
We may decline or cancel an order before shipment, including an order affected by an obvious pricing or availability error, a failed payment, suspected fraud, an address we cannot serve, or a quantity limit. If we cancel an order after payment, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled portion to the original payment method.
Products are intended for personal or authorized trade use. We may limit quantities or decline orders that reasonably appear intended for unauthorized resale.
Prices, payment, and taxes
Prices are shown in United States dollars unless stated otherwise. Shipping charges and applicable taxes are shown during checkout. We may change prices prospectively, but a later price change will not change an order we have already accepted unless you approve the change or an obvious error must be corrected.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By submitting a payment method, you represent that you are authorized to use it and authorize the charge for your order, shipping, and applicable taxes. Your use of Stripe is also subject to Stripe's terms and privacy practices.
Made-to-order production and timing
Most made-to-order pieces are expected to be ready to ship within approximately one week. This is a production estimate, not a carrier delivery date. In-stock products marked Available Now skip the normal production queue.
After purchase, your account may show each made-to-order piece moving through manufacturing, finishing, quality check, and preparation for shipment. Once a shipping label is created, carrier tracking replaces the studio production view.
We must have a reasonable basis for any shipping estimate we provide. If we learn that we cannot ship within the promised time, we will contact you and offer the delay or cancellation options required by applicable law.
Shipping and delivery
RichButter currently ships within the United States to physical addresses. We do not currently ship to P.O. Boxes. Available methods, shipping charges, and any geographic restrictions are shown at checkout or described in the FAQ.
You are responsible for providing a complete, deliverable address and for reviewing it before payment. Contact us immediately if something is wrong. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has entered fulfillment, and we cannot change it after the package has shipped.
Carrier delivery dates are estimates and may be affected by weather, service interruptions, address issues, or events outside our reasonable control. We will provide tracking when available and will help investigate a shipment that is lost, damaged, or marked delivered but cannot be found.
Order changes and cancellations
You may request a change or cancellation any time before the order ships by emailing contact@richbutter.com with your order number. We will confirm whether the request was completed. A change that affects product selection, price, tax, shipping, or production timing may require a cancellation and a new order.
Once a package has shipped, we cannot cancel the order, change its contents, or update the shipping address. The carrier may offer a delivery adjustment. Shipping charges are non-refundable once the applicable item has shipped, except when required by law or when the return results from our error.
Returns, refunds, and order issues
You may request a return within 30 days after delivery if the product is unused, unaltered, and in its original condition. Email contact@richbutter.com with the order number and reason for the return before sending anything back. We will provide return instructions and the applicable return address.
Unless a product arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, you are responsible for return shipping and original shipping charges are not refundable. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method after the returned product is received and inspected. Banks and payment providers may need additional time to post the refund.
If an order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible with the order number and clear photos of the product and packaging. Keep the packaging until we resolve the issue. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights available under applicable consumer law.
Product use, care, and safety
Follow the product page, included instructions, and product labels. Use only the specified bulb base, type, wattage, and dimensions. Keep products away from heat, moisture, outdoor conditions, or other uses unless the product is specifically rated for them. Unplug a lamp before cleaning, changing a bulb, or moving electrical components.
Do not modify wiring, sockets, plugs, or other electrical parts unless the work is performed by a qualified person. RichButter is not responsible for damage caused by misuse, an incompatible bulb, unauthorized alteration, improper installation, accident, or failure to follow care and safety instructions, except to the extent the law does not permit that limitation.
If a product develops an issue related to materials, electrical components, or workmanship, contact us and we will review it with you. Any express product warranty will be described on the product page, in packaging, or in a separate written warranty.
Reviews, photos, and other content
You may submit a review only for a product purchased through the associated account. You may choose to display a name or remain anonymous publicly. Anonymous reviews remain privately linked to the account and qualifying order for verification and moderation.
You retain ownership of review text and photos you submit. By submitting them, you grant RichButter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, crop, format, publish, display, and distribute that content for operating, improving, and promoting RichButter and the reviewed product. This license includes use on the site, in RichButter emails, and on RichButter social channels. It does not allow us to sell your photo as a standalone product.
You represent that you created the content or have all permissions needed to submit it and grant this license. Content must not infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights, and must not be unlawful, deceptive, threatening, hateful, obscene, or contain malicious code. We may moderate, decline, reformat, or remove content, but we are not required to publish every submission.
You may ask us to remove a review or photo. Removal from active pages does not require us to recall materials already produced, remove lawful archival or backup copies immediately, or delete records we must retain for legal or security reasons.
RichButter intellectual property
The Service and its original designs, product names, photographs, graphics, text, code, layout, logos, and other content are owned by RichButter or used with permission and are protected by intellectual property laws. RichButter reserves all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial shopping and account purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, sell, scrape, or commercially exploit the Service or its content without written permission, except as allowed by law.
Prohibited use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate a law or another person's rights.
- Submit false information, impersonate another person, or use a payment method without authorization.
- Introduce malware, disrupt the Service, probe security, bypass an access control, or interfere with another person's use.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or collect content or personal information through automated means without permission.
- Send spam, fraudulent requests, abusive content, or misleading reviews.
- Copy or exploit RichButter designs, media, or other protected content beyond what applicable law permits.
Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third parties for features such as accounts, payments, maps, email, hosting, shipping, and tracking. Their services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for an independent third-party website, product, or service that we do not control.
A link does not necessarily mean that RichButter endorses the linked content. Review the third party's terms before using its service.
Service availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue a site feature or product, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, security, provider outages, or events outside our reasonable control. We will not use this section to avoid fulfilling an accepted order or providing a remedy required by law.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided as available and without warranties about uninterrupted operation, error-free content, or compatibility with every device. Products are subject to any express warranty we provide and to rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so part or all of this paragraph may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RichButter and its owners, team members, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from the Service or a product.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RichButter's total liability for a claim relating to an order or product will not exceed the amount you paid for the order or product giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer protections.
Your responsibility for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse and protect RichButter from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs caused by content you submit, your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service, or your material violation of these Terms or another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from RichButter's own unlawful conduct.
Governing law and disputes
Before filing a formal claim, you and RichButter agree to make a good faith effort to resolve the issue by written notice and reasonable discussion. Send a notice to contact@richbutter.com with enough information for us to understand the concern.
Except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any court proceeding must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and each party consents to that jurisdiction and venue.
General terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and policies incorporated by reference form the entire agreement concerning the Service and replace prior discussions about the same subject. If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue.
A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, reorganization, sale, or transfer of the business. Nothing in these Terms creates an agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as RichButter, our practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will identify the current version. Material changes may also be announced on the site or by email when appropriate. Changes apply prospectively unless the law permits otherwise. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
